Photography and Traveling are two of my interests covered on other pages. This page I primarily reserve for writing and other non-Research work. My major influences are James Fenimore Cooper and Ernest Hemingway for prose, Walt Whitman (the ultimate egotist) and Pablo Neruda for Poetry. As a climber, my prose tends to be dominated by the mountains as subject material so I hope you enjoy it. As for poetry...I think of poetry as a way of distilling passion onto paper; so the subject matter tends towards things that inspire me for good or ill. Most of this work was done several years ago.

Prose Non-Fiction

My Thoughts on Writing - Stephen King wrote a nice book about writing as a craft. I offer a few thoughts of my own on the subject.

My Life - A summary of my life written in 1997/98 for my cousin who was doing an English assignment on 'someone she admired'. I was shocked to be asked and I hope this description wasn't too big of a disappointment.

The Prow - This is the summary of a major climbing fall and rescue from 1999.

Riot on 4th Ave - After Duke won the National Championship in 2001, the University of Arizona took it poorly.....

Black Quacker - A description of a recent failed climb in Tucson, AZ during 2006.
